Local Time API - Getting Started

1. Can I try the Local Time API before I buy?

Yes, we'd like you to. We offer a 1-Month Free Trial Account for you to test the Local Time API.

If you like it you can upgrade to a full subscription. If you don't like it then you are free to walk away.

2. What are the usage limits for your service?

You are free to use your purchased requests however you see fit up to an acceptable usage limit of 10,000 requests per day.

Please note that we do track usage of each API key assigned and once you reached the request limit for your API key or the expiry date for your API key is reached, your API key will automatically expire. You may upgrade your subscription at any time for more requests and/or a greater key longevity (see Question 5 below).


3. Does my subscription automatically renew on expiration?

No. A World Time Engine Local Time API Subscription does not automatically renew once finished. As you approach your key's expiry date and/or you come within 20,000 requests of your purchased limit, the World Time Engine team will get in touch with you with details of how to extend your subscription.

You will then be given the option to renew your subscription or let your subscription terminate with no further commitment required.


4. Can I get a subscription for more that 10,000 requests per day?

Yes. We offer flexibility in our subscription system and you can load your API key with all the requests you need. Simply complete a new order using your existing Google Account and, on completion, your additional requests will be added to your existing API key if you have already purchased from us.

We hope that this design will allow you to scale your use of our services as your apps and services grow. At any time you can come back to our site and upgrade your subscription simply by ordering using the same Google Checkout ID.


5. Can I download your timezone database for use offline?

At present we do not offer this as an option although we do offer Timezone Map services which may be of interest.

The World Time Engine is using state-of-the-art bespoke processing technology running on a distributed mesh of high-powered servers. Furthermore, the database has been fine-tuned to our exact specifications - we're not (yet) operating a ready-to-run solution that can be installed out-of-the-box on your own servers.

In almost all cases, our API should be suitable for your needs. If this is not the case we are available to provide consulting services to established companies to provide more bespoke time-related data, products and services.
